Foreign citizens who do not hold Chinese nationality, as stipulated by the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China.
Applicants fall under the categories specified in the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Admission of International Students by Higher Education Institutions in China (Jiao Wai Han [2020] No.12) must meet the following requirements:
Hold a valid foreign passport or proof of nationality for at least 4 years
Have a record of actual residence in a foreign country for a minimum of 2 years within the past 4 years (as of April 30 of the admission year) (A minimum of 9 months of residence in a foreign country within a calendar year shall be considered as one full year, based on official entry and exit records).
At least 18 years of age as of August 20, 2026. Those who are under 18 at the time of admission must appoint a legal guardian residing in China and submit a Guardian Authorisation Letter the university (The letter must be certified by the embassy or consulate, or authenticated under the Hague Convention, or notarised by a notary public, and accompanied by a Chinese translation).
Abide by the laws and regulations of China as well as the rules and policies of the university.
Completed high school or higher education with a strong academic record.
Students currently enrolled in other universities who wish to transfer to City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) may apply for credit recognition and course exemptions upon passing the required assessments. The minimum period of study at the university shall generally not be less than two years.
